They say moving day is one of the top five most stressful experiences we can go through!
With this in mind, after my morning packing, it was for the good of my health that I headed to Kensington Olympia for an afternoon filled with tea, scones, champers and cake – with a glowing bride to be (not myself).
Note: Poor Mr Crumpet was left to fend for himself, in a sea of boxes and mismatching coat hangers, while I indulged my girlie fantasies. How cruel I am!
Arriving in the 1920’s at Betty Blythe, hot and bothered from a busy moving morning, I quickly regained my composure, donned a flapper headdress and beads, and tucked into the delights at the table.
The afternoon activities included chocolate making, firstly creating gift boxes to transport our sticky treasures home. The hours of joy a group of grown women can experience from stamping motifs onto cardboard are astounding! (Find a selection of stamps to indulge your inner child here) The truffles we created were mint, orange and classic chocolate flavours, a lot easier than I ever imagined, and something I shall try again for a dinner party.
I arrived home tired, happy and covered in cocoa powder. Mr Crumpet kindly pointed out that a white ruffle blouse was not the best choice of outfit.
